K-Pop group BTS has seriously taken over the world. BTS seems to ve absolutely everywhere, and while they’re busy traveling all around our physical world, they’re also dominating the digital world. The Korean boy band impressively boasts records on pretty much every social media platform, having broken records on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. They can officially add yet another social media platform to the list: TikTok.
BTS became the first members of TikTok to reach 1 million followers in such a short amount of time. In only three hours and 31 minutes, BTS reached 1 million followers on the short-video-sharing app, and also garnered 4 million likes on their first post in the first two and a half days of having a TikTok account. Their follower count grew to over 3 million in that first day and a half as well.
Their first post featured the group’s members in different poses and encouraging their followers to follow their TikTok account.
Additionally, the group started a viral trend called the chicken noodle soup challenge. This refers to BTS member J-Hope’s new solo single (featuring Becky G) called “Chicken Noodle Soup,” and the video features BTS dancing along to the song, with their signature impressive choreography. The hashtag associated with the trend, #cnschallenge, has amassed 350 million views already. J-Hope even provides a breakdown of the choreography so fans can learn and dance along!
BTS is featured in the Guinness World Records 2020 for “most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours” for their song “Boy With Luv” (which features Halsey), after being viewed 74.6 million times.
It’s safe to say that BTS is taking the world by storm and is here to stay.
