In addition to that, there are so many cultural offerings that make it one of the most exciting countries to be in as a retired person. You can live very comfortably on the Spanish coast on $2200 to $2400 a month for two people.
Malta
The tiny island nation of Malta might be the smallest in the world but it has so much to offer. It incorporates foods of North Africa, Italian ancient cities and coastlines, and tea culture from England. About 15% of people living here are actually expats themselves. There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy as well as delicious restaurants to try. With about $2330 a month, you can live quite nicely in Valletta, the capital city.
France
Okay, who hasn’t had a dream of living in France at least once in their lives? Living outside of Paris or the Cote d’Azur will help you find housing that can be between $1200 and $2500 a month.
Ecuador
Another great option is Ecuador, which has a great climate, incredible culture, and is amazingly affordable. With the US dollar as currency, it can be an easy transition.
