We can all agree that Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige from Charmed changed the way we envisioned witches. No super-long noses, even longer nails, pointy hats and stringy hair. These sisters became a magical sensation, and now talk of a reboot is firing up the excitement in fans. But as a die-hard fan, do you know these unknown facts?

All The Attention

Holly Marie Combs, or Piper Halliwell if you will, was the only actress to appear in every single episode! Now you can either take my word for it or you can check it out for yourself.

The Book Of Shadows

Do you remember the epic “Book of Shadows”? Well not only is it a beautiful book, it is also completely hand painted! The book weighs approximately 10 pounds and is actually the show’s most expensive prop.

The “Book of Shadows” wasn’t just impressive for the viewers, some of the cast fell in love with it too. Alyssa Milano AKA Phoebe Halliwell, loved the book so much that she even paid the artist who illustrated the pages of the book, to make her replicas of some of the artwork. After the artist completed the work, she put them up all over her house.

The Mom

We all thought we knew who the favorites of the show were, but the truth might surprise you. Patty, the woman who plays the mother of Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige receives more fan-mail than anyone. We still don’t know if those letters are asking her out on the dating scene or if they’re just good ol’ fan mail messages.

Expensive Flashbacks

When Shannen Doherty (Prue Halliwell) left Charmed, her paycheck didn’t stop there. Each time the show wanted to use Doherty’s image during a “flashback” they had to pay her. Even though Prue was killed off the show at the end of the third season owing mostly to the fact that she fought incessantly with co-star Alyssa Milano, the two reconciled following her leave.

Postmortem Money

Aside from getting money each time the show wanted a flashback with Doherty in it, she still owned a percentage of the show. Who said money doesn’t come with you to the grave?

Friends For Life

The casting crew took Shannen Doherty as an actress, but not before she demanded that they cast her longtime friend, Holly Marie Combs too. Her pushiness was successful, and before they knew it, the two friends were acting alongside one-another. What a good decision that was!

Crossing Fingers

Like any television series, the start harbored fears that the show might not make it. But to everyone’s delight, the show was a hit! After only filming two episodes, they multiplied to shooting 22 episodes after that, right at the start. By the show’s closing season in 2006, they had successfully filmed 8 seasons.

Up, Close And Personal

Many people don’t know that Holly Marie Combs was actually pregnant during the show. In the sixth season, if you pay attention, you’ll see that she wears a lot of baggy clothing and the cameras seem to have an excessive amount of close-ups of her.

Love can appear in the strangest places, but I guess the set of your show isn’t too ‘out there’. Holly Marie Combs met her then-husband on the set when he was a key grip. The two started dating, got married, had kids and then divorced in 2011.

Hefty Paycheck

Shannen Doherty definitely didn’t need a financial advisor with the way she was making money on the set of Charmed. For each episode, she received $75,000. That’s not too shabby if you ask me.

Flying Money

If you could have any superpower in the world, what would you have? We know what Phoebe wanted and that was the ability to fly. Unfortunately her dreams didn’t make it into the air because it cost too much to give her the ability to fly. Instead, she received the power of premonition… not bad for a running second.

Magic Newspaper

In the very first episode of the show, Prue grabs a newspaper from the sidewalk, but it’s no ordinary newspaper. The headline of the paper reads, “Police Doubt Fire Was Accidental,” but where have we seen this before? In the 1993 Robin Williams movie, Mrs. Doubtfire, almost the exact same headline appears. Two words changed – the newspaper “The Gazette” to “The Chronicle” and the word, “Police” to “Firemen.”

Season 9 And 10

Fans were heartbroken when the show came to an end in May 2006, but it didn’t end completely. A comic book company called Zenoscope Entertainment published a ninth season of the show four years later in 2010. The comic even managed to pull off Charmed: Season 10 as late as October 2014.

Misspelled

This one is just for fun, but when Phoebe is signing the divorce papers in the second season ending her marriage with Cole Turner, she misspells her own name and writes “Pheobe”. I guess there isn’t a spell against misspelling.
