Megan Fox
Megan Fox is the Hollywood super babe that needs no introduction. Fox burst onto the scene at the age of 15 with her work on Holiday in the Sun. Fox would go on to star in Transformers alongside Shia LaBeouf before locking in as the a lead in the revitalized Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. While Fox has had meteoric success as both an actress and a sex icon, she has never been shy about making a loud statement. Fox came out as bisexual in 2008 and has been very vocal about her belief in ‘open love’, that is a sexual attraction to humans first, not gender. While Fox gets taken for a party girl thanks to the image she’s portrayed in films the actress insists that is far from the truth. Fox says she’s antisocial and a complete shut-in when out of the spotlight.
Ian McKellen
One of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, Sir Ian McKellen has been dominating the entertainment industry since 1959. McKellan is known primarily for his work in pop fiction as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings and Magneto in X-Men, but he is so much more than that. The English actor has six Laurence Oliver Awards, a Golden Globe, a Tony Award and five Emmy nominations. McKellen has never been shy about his homosexuality and the actor has two marriages under his belt: Brian Taylor for eight years and then Sean Mathias for another 10. McKellen is a voice in the LGBT community thanks to his charity work and commitment to spreading equality. Sir Ian McKellen is a national treasure and that’s all you really need to know.
Neil Patrick Harris
You probably know him as the playboy star Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, but Neil Patrick Harris has had a long, and deep, career before that. NPH, as his fans call him, made the leap into Hollywood as the child star on Doogie Howser MD. Since then the 42-year-old New Mexico native has turned into one of the biggest triple threats in Hollywood. Neil is handsome, supremely talented as an actor, and one heck of a singer as well. The fan favored actor came out in 2006 as he told reporters that he is “a very content gay man” who was “living life to the fullest”. Neil Patrick Harris would end up marrying his long time partner, David Burtka, in 2014 after the Marriage Equality Act had gained traction. With Harris’ success at every level of entertainment we wouldn’t be surprised to see people buying Broadway tickets with his face on them in the future.
Alan Cumming
A 52-year-old actor from Scotland, Alan Cumming has been electrifying audiences for the better part of 30 years. Cumming has scored huge roles in blockbuster films like GoldenEye and X-Men while also selling masses of event tickets for his work on Broadway. Alan Cumming has never shied away from doing divisive and edgy work and so it has never been a surprise that the actor was openly bisexual. Cumming started dating his now husband Grant Shaffer back in 2005 and the two legally married in 2012 after the Marriage Equality Act had been passed. Prior to this marriage, Cumming had been married to Hilary Lyon for a period of eight years.
Anna Paquin
You could have bought World Series tickets if you had bet that two of the lead actors in the hit X-Men movie were homosexual, but you probably wouldn’t have made that bet. Yet, it’s true and Anna Paquin, who starred as the edgy character Rogue, is second on our list of X-Men actors. Anna Paquin was born in Canada and raised in New Zealand before leaping full force into Hollywood back in 1994. She had an Academy Award next to her name by the age of 11, the second youngest performer to ever accomplish this feat, and right now stars in the HBO show True Blood. It’s easy to see why Paquin has elevated to super star heights and she hasn’t been afraid to use her celebrity to speak strongly for LGBT rights. Paquin is openly bisexual and helped to create the True Colours Fund.
Victor Garber
Victor Garber is almost the epitome of the “That Guy!” role. Garber has been acting since 1952 and he has been a performer in some of the greatest films of all time. Garber is a Canadian born performer and you’d probably most recognize him for his work in James Cameron’s Titanic or any of his many television roles, including a principal part in the expansive DC Universe. Garber had always assumed that people knew about his sexuality, but it quickly became apparent that nobody realized it. Garber opened up about his sexuality in 2012 and the actor has been dating the Canadian artist Rainer Andreesen since 2000. The couple recently married in October of 2015 in his home country of Canada.
Raven Symone
If you grew up in the ’90s then you probably had a serious crush, at some point, on TV star Raven Symone. Raven Symone made her debut in 1989 on The Cosby Show and would later gain fame on the Disney Channel for her work on That’s So Raven. Between filming commitments Raven would go on to make a serious splash in the musical world, charting up to #68 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999. Right now Raven is on the hit drama Empire alongside Taraji P Henson and Terrence Howard. Symone has been relatively mum on her sexuality, but she came out in 2013, after the legalization of same-sex marriage, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. With Raven back in the spotlight it may not be too long before the stunning singer is back to manning the stages. Keep on the look out for cheap concert tickets if Symone decides to get back behind the mic.
David Hyde Pierce
Born in Saratoga Springs, New York, David Hyde Pierce rose to fame as the Dr Niles Crane on the hit show Frasier. Pierce won several Emmy awards for his work and since then he has become a constant in the entertainment world with work in film, television, and even theater. Pierce married his current spouse Brian Hargrove back in 2008, only a single year after going public with his homosexuality.
Zachary Quinto
Mr. Zachary Quinto is in just about everything. The Carnegie trained actor is currently starring in the Star Trek reboot as Spock, but before that he had gained serious nerd cred for his work on the hit TV series Heroes. Quinto is known for his rugged good looks and he shocked his fans when he came out as gay in 2011. The reason Quinto went public with his homosexuality is that he heard of Jamey Rodemeyer, a gay teenager, who had committed suicide because of his sexuality. Since then Quinto has become a huge equal rights activist.
Carrie Brownstein
Carrie Brownstein is one half of the hilarious quirk-duo that stars on the show Portlandia. Alongside Fred Armisen, Brownstein has become one of Hollywood’s most underrated comedic actors. Known for her ability to jump from role to role and revered for work as a guitarist in the band Excuse 17. Brownstein is becoming more and more influential as her work becomes more and more exposed. Brownstein was ‘outed’ by an article written by Spin rather than going public on her own. In 2006 Brownstein made it clear that she was bisexual, but described her relationship with writing partner Fred Armisen as one of the most “intimate, functional, romantic” nonsexual relationships she has ever had.
Jane Lynch
Jane Lynch is one of the premier female comedians in Hollywood right now and for good reason. Lynch got her first big work in the improv comedy Best in Show, but she has gone on to become a household name thanks to TV. Lynch is starred in Glee, as well as Party Down and a host of other comedies. She has numerous academy awards and nominations under her belt. Lynch has never hid the fact that she was a lesbian and she had previously been married to Lara Embry from 2010 to 2013.
Jim Parsons
Right now The Big Bang Theory is probably one of the most watched television shows in the world. This is due in large part to the absolutely charming ensemble, which is headlined by Jim Parsons as the lovable Sheldon Cooper. Parsons has several Emmy Awards to his name for the role as well as a Golden Globe, but he is much more than just his work on TV. Parsons has been on Broadway and he has also grabbed a Masters degree from the University of San Diego. Parsons has never hidden his sexuality, but it came to the forefront in 2012 when the New York Times did an article on it. Parsons is dating Todd Spiewak and the couple has been together for over 10 years.
