Where Should You Stay?
There are lots of neighborhoods to explore around San Diego, so there really is something for everyone. For craft cocktail bars, wine bars, and a luxury feel, you should stay in Gaslamp. It’s the center of the action and you’ll have a glamorously good time.
If you and your friends are foodies, the best place to go is North Park, where you’ll find more affordable options and plenty of bars and restaurants to explore. For fantastic dessert and coffee make sure that you head to Little Italy, where you can find amazing little cafes and cute bars. Head to Pacific Beach for a laid back beach atmosphere. You’ll find some fun nightlife at the beach bars, and you can even rent a beach house to enjoy together.
In general, we recommend renting out a place on a site like Airbnb as opposed to getting a hotel. This will be a much more affordable and comfortable option. You can find bargain hotel deals, but it will definitely be easier to rent a large apartment or house if you’re in a group.
The Best Part: Boozy Brunch
Okay, we all know that half the reason to head to a girlfriends getaway is for exciting boozy brunch with your girls. So where are the best places to go to enjoy a mimosa and avo toast?
Crushed – located in Pacific Beach, this is the best place for mimosas. The food is also great, but you have to keep in mind that this very small place gets quite full on the weekends.
Kindred – located in South Park for the best craft cocktails and Bloody Marys. This place is a fantastic option for vegans and vegetarians.
Bottega Americano – You’ll find this place in East Village and this is the place to go for bottomless mimosas. Indulge in brunch treats like shrimp & grits or French toast.
What To Do?
Of course, when you’re in San Diego, the obvious choice is heading to the beach. So which beaches should you head to?
Mission Beach – the perfect place to catch a tan, with its endless stretches of sand and expansive space.
Windansea Beach – this beautiful beach is tucked away and quiet, which is why locals head here. Just remember it may be a little tough to find parking here on the weekends, but it’ll be worth it.
La Jolla Shores – A beautiful beach to visit, but be warned, it tends to get pretty crowded.
For something adventurous, head over to Mission Bay, where you can enjoy the sunshine and breathtaking sights of the coastal views. Rent out some kayaks and snorkeling gear at Everyday California, where you can enjoy a kayak tour of the La Jolla Caves. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of some seals and sea lions.
