Mary is Sheldon’s loving, supportive mother. She also makes Leonard jealous as he wishes that his mother had been as nurturing towards him as Mary is to her son Sheldon.

Laurie Metcalf has been appearing on-screen for over four decades. Though she was regularly seen in The Big Bang Theory, Sara Gilbert’s most notable role was as Darlene Conner-Healy on Roseanne from 1988 to 1997, as well as an appearance in 2018. Raj’s father, Dr. Koothrappali, lives in India but often speaks to his son over Skype. He is a religious man who tries to set Raj up on dates with Indian women, much to Raj’s dismay. Raj often speaks about how he grew up in poverty, but as his friends point out, Dr. Koothrappali is a doctor, who drives a Bentley, and employs personal servants, although Raj says they “only” have four. His notable appearances include his divorce and when he discovers Priya is dating Leonard.

Brian first appeared in the industry in 1982, when he played a recurring role as Sgt. Paganee in The Edison Twins. He has appeared in films from 1985 until 2016, television shows from 1982 to 2018, given his voice in roles from 1992 until 2018, and voiced video game characters from 1998, until Kingdom Hearts III which is due for release in 2019. Though his acting has garnered him a lot of fame, his list of video game roles is by far the most extensive.
Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz
The aerospace engineer, Howard, is one of the main characters in the show. He lived with his mother, Debbie, who belittled him constantly and treated him with very little respect. Howard speaks a vast range of languages and has an equally large variety of illnesses. He dated Bernadette briefly in season three, before entering into a serious relationship with her in season four. They later married, just before Howard was sent on his space mission. Debbie later passed away, and Howard moved in with Bernadette.

Though he plays a main role in The Big Bang Theory, Simon hasn’t appeared in a great deal of other shows or movies. He has played a recurring role as Bian Zao in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, as well as making guest appearances in The Guild and Drunk History, amongst some others. His role as Howard earned Simon a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2013 as well as different nominations in other years.

He has been named one of the highest-paid television actors ever, where his part as Howard is earning him roughly $900,000 for every episode since 2017. He won two awards for his role in Roseanne in 1994 and 2008, and one for playing Howard in 2012. He has also earned 10 other nominations for this same role between 2010 and 2016.
Laura Spencer as Emily Sweeney
Emily was the love interest of Raj after he discovered her on a dating site. Emily and Amy began talking when Raj insisted that Amy contacted her for him. However, Emily later got annoyed by the lack of direct communication she had with Raj. When they met up in person, Raj acted very strangely, prompting Emily to leave, although she later gave him another chance to redeem himself – which he did. From here, their relationship was rocky, and drama ensued as a result.

Despite her popularity on The Big Bang Theory, Laura hasn’t had a great deal of other appearances. She has played several roles in films such as A Christmas Kiss, My Funny Valentine, and Heartland, as well as several short films, like Well Enough Alone and B Positive. She has also made several guest appearances in television programs including 2 Broke Girls and Jessie. While playing Emily Sweeney, however, she also played a recurring role as Jessica Warren in Bones, and several others in web series.
Christine Baranski as Dr. Beverly Hofstadter
Leonard’s mother, Beverly Hofstadter, is a physicist and psychiatrist and shows very little affection towards her son. She stated that she had children purely to use them for her research and that she doesn’t really have any feelings towards them. Beverly makes regular appearances on the show, which often results in arguments with many of the other characters, including Sheldon’s mother, Mary. Throughout the duration of the show, Beverly becomes more maternal towards Leonard, but only after he confronts her about how unloving she is.

Christine Baranski is a well-decorated and much-loved actress. She has won a total of 12 awards, along with 37 nominations. One of her nominations was for the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy Award for her role as Beverly Hofstadter. Throughout the show, she dated multiple different men, including Stuart Bloom, but Leonard was the man she often returned to. She mentioned her troubled family and later married Leonard after several problems. They then moved in together after multiple arguments with Sheldon about it.

Melissa’s role as Bernadette is undoubtedly her most popular character to date. Since she began playing Bernadette, Melissa has taken on roles as Summer in True Blood and Daisy Cake in Wright vs. Wrong. She has also voiced characters in Sofia the First, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Marvel’s Ant-Man, and Blaze and the Monster Machines.
