Crocodile Dundee Cast: Let’s Catch Up With Them

It was 1986, and we were all enthralled by an Australian man taking on the wilds of Australia that we were all too happy not to have in our own backyards. Crocodile Dundee featured Paul Hogan and his Australian charm that had us all wondering where the heck he had come from. But we can’t forget the incredible cast that supported the Dundee on his adventures, so where are they now?

John Meillon

He was Wally and he was Dundee’s screen partner. Meillon joined the team for the second Crocodile Dundee movie, but sadly that was the last he would do on any set. Meillon passed away in 1989 after suffering from cirrhosis in his liver. He will always be remembered for his brilliant work and the accolades it brought.

Ritchie Singer

Ritchie Singer didn’t just make a splash in Crocodile Dundee, he continued his acting career for years thereafter. You know him as ‘Con’, but after that role he took his acting skills to another 30-something projects. One of those roles was the TV show Crownies and even acted alongside David Gulpilil, co-star from the Crocodile Dundee series, in Charlie’s Country.

Mark Blum

Poor Mark Blum and his character, Richard. No matter what, he was always going to be disliked for being the sleazy editor that prevented Dundee and Sue from falling in love. Following the days of Crocodile Dundee, Blum is still raking in acting roles and recently did his 70th in the hit TV show The Blacklist.

Reginald VelJohnson

Even though VelJohnson had a small role in the original Crocodile Dundee, he still picked up his acting acumen and made his name big. He managed to play parts in Die Hard and Die Hard 2 as well as the hit show Family Matters. In total, he has appeared in 99 different projects.

David Franklin

This name will ring in your memory because you probably saw him in the science fiction TV series, Farscape, when he played Meeklo Braca. Perhaps you remember Brutus from Xena: Warrior Princess? Or maybe you’re a real Dundee fan, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles to be exact.

David Gulpilil

David Gulpilil is an actor with some real talent, no-one can deny that. He was Neville Bell in Crocodile Dundee and later he took some big roles in movies like, The Proposition and Charlie’s Country. He also experienced some real drama at home, and even had the police knocking on his door after a violent altercation with his wife.

Ernie Dingo played Charlie in Crocodile Dundee II, but we didn’t see him in the first movie. Despite being a talented actor, he has never made it to the Hollywood tier. Having said that, we can’t deny that he has become a hit in other places other than the States.

Rick Gonzalez

Being a successful actor means that you can take on different roles with ease. Rick Gonzalez is a good example of this, and we’ve seen this through the years. He was a gang banger in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, and he was Timo Cruz in Coach Carter. Now he’s a superhero vigilante character by the name of Rene Ramirez “Wild Dog” on the superhero drama series, Arrow.

Here’s a man who wasn’t just an actor, but a wrestler by the name of “the Brawler Crusher”. G’day mate! Gerry Skilton played the hunky Nugget O’Cass in all three of the Crocodile Dundee films. Unfortunately for him, his acting career didn’t quite take off when it came to Hollywood and eventually he retired from acting in 2001. There’s speculation as to why he stopped acting, but most believe that Hollywood just stopped sending him auditions.

Caitlin Clarke played Simone in Crocodile Dundee, but it was a small role that didn’t make much of an impression. But for Clarke, she had already stolen our hearts when she was the fierce and beautiful Valerian in Dragonslayer in 1981. The sad news is that Clarke passed away from cancer at the age 52.
