She featured on the cover of Newsweek Magazine, where printed in full color, a picture with the bright yellow words reading, “A Star Is Born” caught the eye of the international community. BBC named her “Overseas Sports Personality of the Year”. The Associated Press dubbed her as “Female Athlete of the Year”.
