Leading up to the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games, Morgan was on fire. In a qualifier game against Costa Rica, Morgan fired a ball into the back of the opposition’s net in a record time of 12 seconds – the fastest in the tournament’s history. She then put in another, securing a 5-0 win over the Costa Ricans.

In 2016, everyone favored the Americans to win the tournament, but there was a surprise for everyone watching. Despite making it to the second round, Sweden put up a fight that the Americans weren’t ready for. After Morgan scored an important equalizer, the two teams went to penalties. But it was there that the Swedes took advantage and won the game 4-3.
