Now that we’re all familiar with the tune, it’s best you know that the song is actually based on a true story. Wicked. Turns out early on in Dolly’s marriage, there was a redheaded banker who had a “terrible crush” on her husband, Carl. In fact, this crush became a running joke between the couple. And yeah, that little incident birthed the start of a great, great, great song.

Now to save a bit of time, we’ll rattle off a few, but note that she is seriously so talented. To begin, she has Nine Grammy Awards (with 47 nominations), 10 Country Music Association Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, and three American Music Awards. Furthermore she is just one of seven female artists to win the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award.
