The tire mark grooves are there to keep water out when driving over a wet surface, keeping control of the car from hydroplaning. As the tire’s tread naturally wears out over time, it is not as effective, which is why it’s important to change old tires.

Ever noticed that there are different colors for ice cream scoopers at ice cream shops? While they do indicate different scoop sizes, they are actually used in order to prevent cross contamination of different flavors. What a smart system!
