No More Brass
There was once a time where brass (or any other metal) fixtures were considered to be in vogue. However, as time has gone on, these have faded and are no longer considered stylish, which can make your home look quite outdated.
Luckily, this issue can be easily remedied. While you can replace the fixture, if you want a more cost effective solution, you can actually spray paint the brass portion with a matte metallic paint. It’s like you now have a totally new light fixture.
Industrial Design
One of the components of a kitchen that can either make or break the whole look of the kitchen is the countertop material. Linoleum was a very popular medium to use, but quite often, it ends up looking very drab.
You can redo these by stripping off the linoleum and coating the countertop with concrete. Once it’s dry, sand it down and make sure it’s even, and then top with a coat of staining finish. You’ll have a brand new, modern countertop.
